Go WHAT?!?!?!?

Bey loves the "k" sound...and adds it to everything sooner or later. He calls himself BeyBirk, calls my meyer's parrot Elliok, etc...and last night, right after I heard something hit the newspaper under his swing, he proudly proclaimed, "Bey go POOK!" ROFLOLOL!

Empathy does NOT mean sympathy :)

Maxwell* - red-bellied parrot - and I are connected at the heart, the same as Elliot - meyer's - and I are. There's a special bond between me and each of these poicephs that doesn't really exist with any of the others (which is NOT to say I don't totally love and adore them!)...

Time goes so quickly...

...when we're busy, doesn't it? I haven't had the time at the computer that I used to have, and when I think about the Feather Forum I always hope that I'll have the chance to participate again like I used to. Then today I realized that it probably won't just happen and I just have to take the time...and something else will have to wait...

Dirty Birds?? Why I never....

My walking buddy, who is not an animal person, and I were talking during our walk tonight. I was telling here that there's nothing like hearing, "I love you, night night" or "Got a kish?" from a bird, or having one throw himself on his back in my hand and demand, "TICKLE!" and kissing that soft belly...and she said, "ENOUGH, that's so GROSS! I can't believe you'd kiss a dirty filthy bird!" I have to admit that even knowing she is a non-animal person, I was shocked. I've never considered my birds to be dirty and would sooner kiss a feathered belly than a furry one. Dirty? My sweet birds?????

I said it wouldn't happen...

...that 14 parrots was more than enough. Then a wonderful gentleman that's a customer of the pest control service for whom I work during the day (at home) had to give up his 2 cockatiels. I have a special spot for pointy-headed boids and I couldn't say no. These guy are 7 and 8 years old and have always been flighted and he knew that another owner would most likely clip them first thing.

Chuckie Pride

Briefly (or I'll try anyway...) Chuckie is a greencheek conure that I bought from a small, clean pet store about 4 years ago - my one and only "sympathy" purchase. But he came with issues and baggage; some would label him a nasty little sod but he is among my favorite birds ever because of his spunk and unwillingness to take any guff...the only problem being, he considers everything to be guff - lol.

Maxwell's Smart!

I haven't been around for a couple of weeks, between computer problems one week and just plain busy-ness the next! When something has to give, it can't be my job, or my business, or homeschooling, or my cooking/cleaning/laundry, or my flock...it's usually my sleep and my online activities...I think it's wonderful how this board has been growing since I was last able to pop in! :)

OK, I feel dumb...

I just discovered that I can click on "latest" and see all the activity I've been missing! WOW, what aweseme pictures, and so many new people I didn't know were here...duh! :)

Humor?

Posted by chiaowl on Thu, 03/25/2004 - 21:01
Bey (african grey) does seem to understand the concept of "silly". When I say "silly" he will do goofy things. Or he'll do something goofy and then say "SILLY!" in a high-pitched, silly voice. Which makes me wonder if he can make the jump to humor? The reason I ask is...
