My Little Bird,

I just posted an excerpt from my birdie memoir as an article but it occurs to me that anyone who is interested might want to read the beginning of it. Just as background, when my budgie died two years ago, I started writing him a letter. Then letters. Next year I hope to finish the whole memoir. In any case, this was the first letter.)

Hi, I have just joined your group. I had a budgie for over six years, Capt. Kirk the Parakeet (one of four names I gave him over time). I was devastated when he died. I went online and subscribed to Bird Talk Mag.

5 Cocatiel Eggs-

It has been 10 days since we first discovered 2 eggs in the nest box. Proud Mommy Cheech proceeded to have an additional egg every other day until the 5th and last egg. Proud Daddy Chong is helping sit on the eggs. Sometimes they fight over the eggs getting into little squabbles just like normal parents. It seem that Chong wants 3 eggs to sit on and then Cheech wants 3 eggs neither are happy with just 2. We have looked in the nest box to find the happy couple spooning each other and sitting on the eggs. So far the eggs are doing great we have candled the eggs many times and they seem to be developing at a healthy rate.
