Cage free

I think our railing are about to disentegrate but Bean has no cage. It is interesting to think back 4 years when he first sat on the kitchen chair and preened Jt's short hair.

We now think nothing of having a macaw fly through the house to us.

Bean's flying

Took Bean flying last Tuesday at Vint Hill again. Obviously I don't do it enough but he is so happy when I do. Hopefully I can do it again this week. If not we will get him out this weekend. The past 3 or 4 weekend have been raining or too windy.

It time to fly

Wow

It's amazing how much panicky people can ruin your life. I hope to get out if it doesn't rain all weekend and let Bean do some more good flying. Will try to take some pictures. Hard being a 1 m

Ty's swim lessons - Bean's flyabout at the park

Ty is in swim lessons from 9-9:45. I noticed the huge park behind the pool when I took him on Monday.

I took Bean out there today while Ty was playing at the bottom of the deep end.

Bean did 2 large flyabouts. I tossed him and he flew in a loose figure 8 pattern 2 or 3 times landing close to me. I put him up on the soccer goal so he could use that as a perch.

Bean crossed the road

When Bean and I go outside he has really taken a liking o making a huge (for me) flight outside. He takes off from the back yard to circle around the house. By this time he flies through the trees bordering the yard. By the time he makes a looping turn in one of the nighbor's yards he is 100' up over the trees.

Bean is a flying nut

Now that he has spent the night outside he is a trip.

He is constantly flying.

Inside to and from whatever he can.

Outside everywhere. He wants to fly more than he does. But he just loves it. Sitting on the deck he is non-stop.

Bean's overnighter last night

Posted this on freeflight:

Came back from an airshow and we were eating pizza on the deck out back.

Bean was mooching food and hanging out. Flying back and forth to his perch on the deck and us. He went to fly to our friend who was over for the first time "Tom. Tom put his arm up and Bean decided to take a flyabout instead.

Family breakthrough with Bean and Ty the Terror

We take advantage of the preshool gymnasium when dropping of Tyler for shool.

Tyler takes Bean and walks the the opposite end that I am at. Ty holds up Bean and I snap my fingers and Bean flies to me.

We found a great park the other week. Took Bean there and he had a huge flyabout. Made three laps and landed about 10 feet away from me.

He has been making a few laps around the outside of the house.

Now that things have calmed down I realize I didn't close the book on Mozart.

Mozart went to what is hopefully a permanent home on Xmas Eve. Lady that works at a MD Humane Society.

So we had peace on earth.

Bean and Petsmart

Yeah I know Petsmart is a BAD word. But there is a new one close to our house. I usually avoid them like the plague. But Bean came from a Petsmart in PA. The lady who I adopted him from bought him there.

OH MY GOD - or how to make a Cockatoo neurotic

http://hometown.aol.com/gbirdinc/index.html

That picture right there - doh!!!!!

Now that is the only way Mozart is happy since someone did this for her first 20 years of her life. This is not positive reinforcement.

Mozart's Wings

OK they are a little more clipped than I thought. I still need to count the missing feathers but there are more on one side verses the other.

She acts like a flighted bird. Always wanting to fly to her perch or to her cage.
