5 Cocatiel Eggs-
Posted by lpnbateman on Sat, 12/15/2007 - 11:34
It has been 10 days since we first discovered 2 eggs in the nest box. Proud Mommy Cheech proceeded to have an additional egg every other day until the 5th and last egg. Proud Daddy Chong is helping sit on the eggs. Sometimes they fight over the eggs getting into little squabbles just like normal parents. It seem that Chong wants 3 eggs to sit on and then Cheech wants 3 eggs neither are happy with just 2. We have looked in the nest box to find the happy couple spooning each other and sitting on the eggs. So far the eggs are doing great we have candled the eggs many times and they seem to be developing at a healthy rate.

I am interested in getting a Derbyan and would like some feed back from members that own one of these birds. I have spoken to several breaders and have gotten different answers from every breeder. Please contact me with information that will be helpful to a new owner of one of these beautiful birds.
