HELP! Eggs!

I have a sun conure (who we thought was a male) who is 4 years old and started laying egss. I call my vet who is not a bird vet and he told me to keep them in the cage with her for a month and then we could get rid of them. We set up a little nest for her and she was a good mom-to-be but, of course, it changed her personality and she became very protective of them. After the month, we got rid of the eggs and cleaned her cage from top to bottom and she was her normal self. This was 3 weeks ago. This morning she laid another egg.

And then once i get him out, he tries to go back to the cage after only 5 minutes of being out. He doesnt bite me or anything, i am just wondering why he is doing this and how can i get him to stop.

My Sweet Cinnamon Green Cheek Conure

My diva conure parrot Sessie, yes, she is spoiled rotten but she is doing something that is worrying me. For about 2-3 months now she will lose her orange belly feathers and then they regrow and then she looses them again. Of course she doesn't act sick at all, but I know they usually don't, when something is wrong, She just turned a year old december 2007, and she went thru her big first molting, but this thing with her loosing her orange belly feathers has me worried, is this common or should I get her to a vet? Thanks for any help!!

I just received a red lored amazon. This is her 4th home. At first she was very sweet to me. She loved when I pet her and constantly called for me. Today was a different story. She doesn't want me in the same room as her.

Kitty Kitty is almost 3 years old, and very friendly. You can pet and touch him just about anywhere, he talks and whistles, really a bird owners dream. Except for the fact that I have trouble in the morning when i reach into his cage to change out his food.

Need macaw owners perspective

Good morning. I am currently owned by a 10 year old female Umbrella cockatoo, named Ellie, and just as of 3 days ago I am now owned by an 8 year old male B&G Macaw, named Teal. I have large bird experience especially with My Ellie (U2), but my questions is I see such a huge difference in personality (duh I know they are all different) mannerisms and DOMINANCE between Ellie and Teal. When I got Ellie of course she was scared her whole world was turned upside down, but in the honeymoon phase she never made a sound hardly, pretty much wouldn't come out of her cage etc. Now she is roaming the house, steps up, very interactive with me. But that also took months and months.

My poor little conure :(

Ok, so I've managed to adopt a 4 month old sun conure that the owner couldn't take care of anymore. I am a licensed vet tech, and Kiwi, my bird, came into our clinic, presenting with chronic weight loss. All of her tests came back fine, but the owner doesn't want to deal with her now, I guess. So I brought her home. It was either she come home with me or she had to be euthanized! The choice was apparent....

Can I use a green house??

Hi,

Just purchased my first pair of cockatiels from a breeder. Very pleased with the tiels. Two questions.

First, I have some former rabbit cages I built that are 2ftX3ftX2ft high. I made them from 1/2 inch wire. Can I use them for the time being for a pair of tiels?

My cockatiel lately doesn't want to be anywhere near me. I try to pet him and he runs away, I try to pick him up and he attacks me. A few days ago he was a sweet and caring bird, but now he wants nothing to do with me.

Should I get a cockatoo or a cockatiel?

You see, Im a first time bird owner and would love either of these breeds. Im wondering which would be better suited with a household of one child, and 2 dogs.(They dont bother birds) I'd love on that can talk or have silly tricks. I've searched online and can find results. Can you help me decide?
