My parakeet Salt makes weird noises at night sometimes. They sound somewhat like sneakers sqeaking against tile. I looked in my books and I couldn't find anything about her problem. Does anyone know what could be going wrong with her?

(I don't know if Salt is a he or a she, but I just call her a she)
((I also have another parakeet, Pepper, who shares a cage with her. But Pepper is perfectly fine))

Salt and Pepper - very nice. :-) If you really think this is a problem, then a veterinarian is your best bet for a solution.

But I'm not sure why you think it's a problem. Does the bird seem to be under stress when this happens? Are the noises really loud?

Phoebe peeps at night sometimes, I just think it's kind of cute.

my friend told me that the female lays the eggs and the male flys over and puts serm on them.

That's true for some fish, but your friend is mistaken about birds - eggs aren't laid until well after they are fertilized.
