I just returned from two weeks of sightseeing around Oregon, with a three-day stop in Ashland for the Shakespeare festival My parents took custody of Phoebe and Tangent while I was out, and I'm told that things went pretty well. Phoebe bonded to my mom fairly quickly, and Tangent enjoyed climbing all over my dad, so I guess everyone did OK in my absence.

The only not-so-good news is that Tangent has taken to "dive-bombing" Phoebe... I was just starting to see a little bit of that before I left. Phoebe would be sitting on a perch minding her own business, and Tangent would swoop in from out of nowhere, displacing her and taking over the perch. I'll have to work on focusing Tangent's energy on other sources of excitement. Poor Phoebe!

Anyway, I'm off now to bring them (and their stuff) back home.

I was wondering were you had got to? Was just about to send out a search party! Now I need to catch up.

They actually didn't come home until tonight... I have a cold, and my parents were kind enough to give me some extra time to rest and unwind before taking the birds back home.

It turns out that the dive-bombing stuff was not near as bad as I'd feared, in fact my parents left the two of them in the room together unsupervised and out of their cages for most of the two weeks I was gone, and the birds mostly just ignored each other and kept to their own areas - which is great in my book.
