After a full crop of formula, Tangent is still pretty responsive if I just put down the syringe and offer safflower. That's encouraging... it seems it's the syringe he wants to stay away from, not me personally.

I weighed both Tangent and Phoebe for the first time in quite a while, Tangent is at 210, about 10 grams more since his vet visit a couple months ago, and Phoebe is right around 230, as she has been for a couple years. I should get into the habit of weighting them more often... I was starting to worry that he wasn't growing quick enough and/or she's overweight, but I guess playing with a juvenile and an adult for a while just warped my perceptions.

Tangent and I were playing with a hair elastic, an I sneaked it over his head and round his neck. Curiously, it only bothered him for a minute or two, then he got distracted by treats and forgot about it. After a few minutes it was almost hidden in his feathers and I was wondering how I'd get it off. I snuck it over his head during a head-scratch and he seemed pretty happy to play with it again. This feels like a step closer to the harness, though I'm not sure what the next step(s) will be, other that repetition, just to get him used to the idea of wearing something.

Got a look at Phobe's wings again, far as I can tell she's only a few feathers short on each side.

Tangent is learning to come when I call, but not when I don't call. Ducking and letting him fly over my head did the trick after just a few iterations. We've been doing the back-and-forth for a while, but he figured the "only on cue" part tonight. Now I can walk about 30 feet away (almost the width of my house), and he doesn't fly to me until I turn around and call him. Need to work more on flying around corners though, and get some pictures of him going back and forth between Elizabeth and I. He is an eager frisbee.

Wish the ducking worked for us. My wife is pretty much a pushover when it comes to that so it is pretty much a lost cause. I duck and duck and duck. Bean will make the turn in the kitchen and go back to his perch. He is relentless though and knows my wife won't push him off as much.

Glad to hear he is flying back and forth between the two of you.

Tangent picks things up pretty quickly. Yesterday I didn't think he understood the idea of coming on cue when he can't see me, but today he did a few flights to me from around a corner. He still did some un-cued flights to me, but there were many more times where he waited for me to call him. That seems really quick for something that we just started working on a couple days ago.
