I worked on this with Bean for a while and he either would get bored or just didn't get it. I think he got bored. I could get him to ditinguish between a red, yellow and green ring by telling him a color. But retrieve he just never cared about. He also very much enjoyed the sound of the plastic rings dropping off the counter onto the wood floor so this might have been a hindrence.
