My husband and I were tooling around our local Home Depot and in the bird food section found these huge dried corn husks for the price of about 3 dollars. I've seen mini prettier versons at the pet store for about 5 or six which offers less than a tenth of these bags.

After placing the corn in the corners of our house that he likes to chew, Gonzo has spent hours and hours playing with the corn. Gonzo throws the corn to see how far across the room he can get it, Gonzo takes bits of corn and stores them in his food dish for later. When finally finding the right bit of corn, Gonzo rolls it again and again in his mouth.

It was such an inexpensive if messy treat that I thought other birds might enjoy it.

Be careful however. We hung it on a a picture hanger which has a nail that presses it to the wall. Gonzo was so eager to get to the corn that he pushed his head firmly against the nail and got a little circular cut upon his head. I had horrible visions of ring worm until I inspected his play area and found the mark mimiced the nail.

Just another day in the adventures of my feathered friend.
