I received a pair of 16 year old cockatiels, yes 16 years old, about 6 months ago. The male is a regular grey, baby, and the girl is a lutino, woody. The girl is not tame at all but loves for you to talk to her, she loves to dance. The boy is somewhat tame, you have to basically push him out of the cage, but once he is on the floor, he does know how to step up, but once he is on your finger he just wants to bite, no touching, no petting. My question is, he just seems to hate being out, are they too old to be trying to tame, it upsets them so much, should I just leave them alone and just give them a good life, we talk to them and give them treats in a treat cup, I'm just afraid at their age that it causes so much stress for them to try and mess with them. Thank you for any help.

I don't know what to tell you. I would swith to using an extra perch to take them, and take them out one by one, and give each individual attention. Give then treats from your hand, and show them when they come out good things happen. I know I'm not a big help, but I really don't know what to say.

I really appreciate any help. Thank you very much for responding. I just don't want to put them in any stress because of their age.

Thanks again for the help,
