Ty is in swim lessons from 9-9:45. I noticed the huge park behind the pool when I took him on Monday.

I took Bean out there today while Ty was playing at the bottom of the deep end.

Bean did 2 large flyabouts. I tossed him and he flew in a loose figure 8 pattern 2 or 3 times landing close to me. I put him up on the soccer goal so he could use that as a perch.

He thought his first flight over for a while. He called out to Tyler "TYYYLLLLERR".

I could tell he was rested since he started the funky chicken dance.

I tossed him again and he tightly circled back to the soccer goal. Let him rest a few minutes and did it once again landing back on the goal.

I walked to the other goal hoping to get him to fly from perch to perch but he was semi-content to just sit at a distance and look at me.

I walked back, picked him and up he was moving his wings like he really wanted to go again. He does certain moves that are very obvious when he wants to go up.

I lifted him up and off he went.

Each flight lasted about 20 seconds. I could tell he wanted more but didn't have the stamina.

We then went back in and picked up Ty.

It was a nice time.

I love reading your stories about Bean's adventures. Gonzo must love them too, the stories are one of the major things in this forum that helped me decide to not trim his wings. Gonzo's an indoor bird but he's a much much happier one.

THANKS!!

wow! you just let them fly out in the open? no huge nets surrounding the place?
and when you say swim, what exactly do you mean? really swimming for these little birds in the pool?
what kinds of birds are these?

Tyler (5) had a weeks worth of morning swim lesson.

Yes wide open flying!
