I have a ten month old ekki. He seems to be molting as his black is showing thru. Is this the right age?

Also, when can I expect his Flights to grow back?

I don't know much about eclectus - maybe someone else will know better. Normally you shouldn't be seeing much down when a bird molts... but I think eclectus tend to look pretty bad during their first molt.
I'd guess that he might start to grow in his flights soon. But they molt and replace flight feathers gradually so it may be awhile before he gets in a nice set of flight feathers.

Thnx, The land of vos web site told me it was normal and that the eclectus molts varying feather combinations about twice per year. They said his flights would come back at about one year of age.

This is very late but at only 10 months old, yes, it can be normal, but, how much down do you see? Really bold or just messy looking?

They still have a lot of down under their feathers & until they're approx 2 years old (depending on the sub species) all sorts of things do happen with their feather & for the 2 years can look really scruffy.
