I am looking for information on ways to introcuce our new Harliquin to our Blue and Gold. Our B & G is 6 years old and has been with us for 2 years. Our New Harliquin is 2 1/2. He is not taking to my husband very well - trying to bit him and our B&G is starting to bite at my husband. We have them in the same room but not next to eachother. OUr B&G seems very interested in her new friend but we know not to put them together or let them play together this early because they might bond to eachother than to us. Any help on keeping our B&G at ease and how to keep her from biting us would be helpful. Any information on how to get our new Man to like my husband and to let him handle him woudl also be helpufl. Thanks! We really want this to work out...

Your husband will need to ignore biting (as painful as it is) the more he reacts to it the more the B&G will bite.

Slowly introduce them, allow them to be close & see how they react but always under supervision.

The bonding only depends on whether you stop spending time with the birds & have them spend more time with each other. There's no rason why you can't have a human bonded bird with another bird as a companion too. Plenty of people do it succesfully.
