I think our railing are about to disentegrate but Bean has no cage. It is interesting to think back 4 years when he first sat on the kitchen chair and preened Jt's short hair.

We now think nothing of having a macaw fly through the house to us.

Sometimes we will wake up and he is under the bed. Other times I am downstairs and hear him fly over and work his way down the chair to the floor. Running across the floor back to his perch to grab a nut he dropped.

Up on the mountain is not the best flying area. He is finding a good pattern around the outside of the house and landing in the yard.

We took Bean down to a friends house two roads down a while back. I would say .3 miles or so. I knew as soon as I did he would go back to find them. Feeling adventerous one day Bean flew around the house and off he went. Half an hour later my wife got calls from the neighbor while she was at work. He flew right down to check out the new friends.

Winter is finaly setting in here in Virginia. Need to get some more outside time with Bean. He actually likes it cooler. Will see what the weekend brings.
