I'm soon to adopt a sun conure & I've been looking everywhere for a specific fresh/cooked food diet for her.

All I can find is recomendations for pellets. The problem I have there is it's impossible to get pellets here & my other birds are on a fresh food diet also so there is no reason for her to have pellets. Our fruit & veg variety here is never ending all year round also.

I have read high vit A diet is recommended. Is this correct? If so it's no probs as my ekkie is also high vit A diet. But what other specific foods can I give her on a daily basis, as a normal part of her diet????

I know about what parrots can't have in the way of food, just looking for a good natural sun conure diet, thanks.

I have an ekkie and a sun. I feed the the exact same thing. they are both beautiful and healthy. See the photos to the right. Fresh fruits and veggies 2-3 times a day. I also include a roudy bush pellet, some nuts, and once in awhile a little bit of seed.

Thanks for that. I am giving her the same diet as my ekkie. no pellets as they're not good for ekkies anyway & they're impossible to buy here. She's doing well so far.
