i am in the army national guard and am about to ship wich means my wife will be without me, her dream was to own a macaw as a young girl, now that im leaving i want her to have some company while im gone, so if anyone can help me that woould be great, thank you,

Your post to me sounds like a potential impulse buy. I would suggest you do some serious home work before buying a Macaw. Not only is it a literal LIFELONG commitment but also the time they require, the size of their cage, how loud they are, general care expense (toys, vet visits) etc. I have a B&G because someone made an impulse buy and didn't have the ability to give him the above mentioned things. We've been able to give him a great loving and nurturing home and I would strongly suggest you BOTH do the proper research and take this decision very seriously.
