I love budgies, and in 6 days i am getting 2 males. The previous owner didn't look after them properly and eventually got bored of them.(which i think is really sad) The owners children BELLOWED at them when they sang and they didn't feed them properly. They didn't even have the decentcey to name one of them. They aren't trained either which will make it difficult for me. But with patience i think i may be able to stroke them and let them trust me.
I hate to see animals not treated properly, and often wonder why people treat them like thet because they are only innocent little creatures.

I strongly advise that you look into clicker training, specifically "The bird school. Clicker training for parrots and other birds. Also covering taming and flighted birds" by Ann Castro. This book helps you learn to respect your birds for the birds that they are. You will have to establish a good, fun, trusting relationship before you even consider stroking them to trust you. Touching for trust will more than likely loose any trust. Good luck!
