My 5 year old Orange-Wing Amazon, Pazuzu, has random bouts where he will make very interesting noises and put one leg up into the air as if he is going to grab on to something..then alternate and put his other leg up into the air. I'm not sure if this is some sort of mating dance thing...I'm mostly just curious, I just think it's funny how he looks like an idiot when doing it XD. I took a video of him doing it and hopefully someone can explain to me exactly what it is =D. Thanks!

(P.S. You may have to turn your volume up to hear the noises well...I took the video with a not-so-good camera)

Looks like he's just playing to me. My B&G and CAG both do that but it's real quick.

Does he do it just when you're standing there or even if you're out of the room? If it's only when you're in there it could be him wanting to step up. My B&G will do lift his foot if I'm around telling me to pick him up.

He could be playing. He looks like an awfully cute bird and amazons are such hams.

Also he kinda looks like he's looking for another perch to me too maybe? Or the wire top of his cage could be bothering his feet slightly and he's stretching them, sort of like how we do when we shift toe to toe.

Now, will he do it bobbing to music. I happened to have blues music in the backround and by happenstance, it looked like he was dancing! :)
