Im about to purchase I think female grey. im a female as well, I'm going to be taking care of this bird(main provider)any advice on if i should wait for a male or is a female just as good. I dont want her to pick her feathers out a year from no wanting my boyfriend that works 3rd shift
please help

I think I understand your question.....I have a male CAG he is better with my girl friend. It's not because he's a male IMO it's because his previous owners a female handled him more. I'm a tall fairly big guy and I think it scares him. I would suggest that regardless of the sex you get (remember they aren't dimorphic so a DNA test would need to be done in order to be sure of the sex) that you expose the bird to as many people and situations as you can. I would suggest taking it around people of different races and colors, with hats, with out hats, with/with out glasses etc. From my experience Grey's seem to be more leery of things that are new to them then other birds I've been around so it's good to expose them to new things as young as possible.
