I have had two lovebirds for around 10 years now. Just recently I had to put one to sleep due to a tumor. I am worried about the other bird adjusting and am not sure what to do. She is elderly herself and I am afraid that if I get another lovebird the older bird will get stressed out. I was told to wait and see for a few days how she reacts. If I do need to get another lovebird, should I look for an elder mail. At this time, I am trying hard to bond more with her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

If she is tame and you have time to spend with her, then she should be able to manage without her companion.
Otherwise, it can be hard to decide what to do. I think a new baby lovebird might be too much for an older one. You might look around, see if there are any shelters or rescues that have lovebirds. They may have older lovebirds that would probably not be likely to get adopted otherwise.
10 years is about average for a lovebird, but they are also capable of living quite a bit longer.
