Hi everyone! I'm very new to this forum and am excited to be here. I've been a bird owner for quite some time, although until today I've been primarily a budgie owner. Today I managed to take home a beautiful cockatiel all my own. I'm not too familiar, I haven't had any growing up, so I was wondering what kind of general information I can get. I'll likely have more questions as I go, and I'll be posting pictures as soon as possible.

Been here a few years now, but don't spend as much time here as I use to. I believe this to be technically the best forum/group on the web!

Hi i bought home my first tiel on Wednesday. Everything was going ok until i (made what i now know is a mistake)of taking him out of his cage. He wouldnt let me near him and i know he was scared, when i finally picked him up to put him back in his cage, he bit me really hard so that it bled lol. I was very worried about this as he was really scared for the rest of the afternoon and evening. This was last night but today he seems to be better. He has made a noise for the first time (squawks)and is running all over the cage and its the first time i have seen him touch his food. He is even investigating his toys. Is this a good sign??
