Hey everyone. My fiance and I have just adopted our first bird, well he had a parakeet growing up so he knows a little.
I am pretty educated on the bird, and know they're LOUD!!! Tango has only been vocal when he's nervous (usually standing on my head) which leads me into my first questsion.
why does he feel the need to stand on my head? Is this a potential dominance issue that needs to be taken care of. He is VERY friendly and hasn't bitten eaither of us, he was tought "up, up" and "step down" when we got him. (last night)
I just want him to adjust as easily as possible, we're letting him sit on a perch near his cage right with us, he's much happier away from us right now and we're not pushing it.
Also he just had his wings clipped for the first time and doesn't realize he has lost flight. How long on average does it take for a bird to realize?
Thanks everyone, looking forward to being on this forum a lot:)
