I have a 3 yr. old cockatiel that had some kind of an infection under her wing. All the feathers under the wing were gone and she had raw, inflamed skin. That problem seems to be on the mend. BUT, now she has lost the orange on her cheek. She doesn't have any feathers there and her skin and ear is completely exposed. My vet doesn't know yet what the problem is.....does anyone?
Thanks!

I think tiels can be prone to giardia skin infections
that can cause them to itch or pluck. Even if the vet has already tested, the test is not very reliable so it may be worth testing again. (The test depends on the parasite being present in the droppings and an infected bird may only have it present in droppings occasionally).
