i got a conure of the weekend.. and let me say i'm in love with this bird.. don't know if it's a female or male.. the bird is only 2 months old.. i also have a cocatail and love that bird too.. i bought this conure from a pets store where i got my other bird too.. my conure is very friendly and loves being out of the cage.. my question is while i'm holding my bird or it's in the cage, it fluffs this feathers and the stuff i find, says it could be a good thing or bad thing?

thanks

Two months is very young for a jenday to be weaned and eating by itself. Are you still handfeeding? If you aren't still handfeeding him, you need to be sure to offer him soft warm food he can eat easily - pellets soaked in warm water or juice, baby food, applesauce, oatmeal, ect. Babies that young may not be able to eat harder foods like seeds or pellets, at least not well enough to maintain their weight.

Fluffing CAN be good or bad. A happy relaxed bird will fluff up now and then, especially when preening.
A sick, weak, or cold bird will remain fluffed almost all the time and may appear less alert, and sleep on both feet. If you suspect he is sick, it would be good to take him to a vet soon.
