About 2 months ago we were given a lovebird that had become mean after starting to lay eggs. She was hand tamed to begin with and as soon as she laid eggs she became a biting monster. We took her home and immediately took all of the thing where she could lay eggs out of her cage. This was done with leather golves and extream caution. She now will go the the side of the cage where we are and will eat seeds out of my hand through the cage bars. She will not bite at my fingers when I touch her cage anymore, but she rubs her beak on the cage bars really fast. Does anyone know why she would do this? Another thing that she does in run to a corner of the cage and duck down and rub her beak together? Again, does anyone know why she would do this? We are trying to retame her by spending time with her by her cage. Does anyone have any suggestions for us? She is 3 years old.
