I have a budgie who is developing a really crusty cere and all over and around her beak. At first i thought she was just in the breeding season because she lives with other males, but now it's spread on her beak too. I took her immediatley to the vet, I thought it could be Scaly Face but the vet said said it wasn't - it was more likely to be general husbandry of the bird. So i don't know what it is and i was hoping to breed my budgies (obviously i won't at the moment). Does anyone have any similar cases, or does anyone know what it is or have any advice. Please, i need help!!!

Sorry but I can't offer any more help. My thoughts would be the same as yours - scaly face mites or just the nromal cere change in a female in breeding condition.
Was the vet an avian vet?
I would try to get some pictures of her cere and see if you can show it to another vet or expereinced budgie breeder to see if they can help. If it is scaly face it would have to be treated by a vet.
