I have a young green cheek conure that I like to let out of the cage whenever possible. However, when he gets out , he will inevitably jump and flutter to the floor from his playstand or cage (his wings are clipped). This may be from a distance of up to 5-6 feet high. I constantly need to pick him up and put him back on the cage or stand. Is this common behavior? I like to have him use the playstand but he spends more time on the floor then on the stand.

You should take him to an avian vet for a thorough check up. It's not normal for any bird to continually fall & can sometimes be a sign of something wrong.

Or if he's only just been clipped & is normally used to having his wings then it may take some time for him to realize he won't get far & gives up.
