Hi All,
i've started a training journal online for my new baby PFLB, Mouse. i'm pretty crappy at this computer stuff, but i do hope to update it daily and learn to post photos as well.
i plan to train Mouse for freeflight, and husbandry/fun behaviors also. So this will be a journal starting from the just-weaned baby i have now to Star Fleet Cadet!
If you're intersted in posting questions, comments or suggestions at this site, The Lovebird Diaries, please let me know and i'll send you an invite.

What an excellent idea Lisa. I've read what you've written so far about Mouse with interest. I'll own up to all here (but not quite yet to Pete!) that I have been thinking about maybe getting a baby Fischer LB to raise and train along with Hoot. We'll see, but I'll certainly be taking alot of interest in how you are getting on with Mouse. Heaps of luck.

Hi Debbi -
i was really surprised at how much my older birds learned from Bean - Zazu B&G in particular got a lot of encouragement for flying from her, and was very upset when she disappeared. Pretty funny, the smallest and the largest of my birds were great "fly buddies."

The Fischer's are really beautiful! All the LB species can be pretty aggressive; territorial and possessive of their chosen person though. i would wonder if Hootie is bigger-enough to hold her own?

I think Hoot is most definately 'big' enough to hold her own. For a not so big bird she has a rather big attitude about her own importance! :)
I have 2 Fischer's in the avairy and yes they are beautiful. I have found that both the Masked and the Fischer's are alot less aggro than the Peach Faced although that has only been in an avairy situation. Would be interesting to see if that carries over to a trained 'house' bird.
