My walking buddy, who is not an animal person, and I were talking during our walk tonight. I was telling here that there's nothing like hearing, "I love you, night night" or "Got a kish?" from a bird, or having one throw himself on his back in my hand and demand, "TICKLE!" and kissing that soft belly...and she said, "ENOUGH, that's so GROSS! I can't believe you'd kiss a dirty filthy bird!" I have to admit that even knowing she is a non-animal person, I was shocked. I've never considered my birds to be dirty and would sooner kiss a feathered belly than a furry one. Dirty? My sweet birds?????

Their bellies are never dirty, sometimes their feet are, but I still would rather kiss birdie feet (and I have) than dirty furry feet. And even when their feet are dirty, they don't smell.

Yeah, well, I have the same reaction when people let their dogs lick their faces. Vive la difference! :-)

Hoot gets more kisses than Pete!! :) (and I never kiss Dino dog, ugh!)
As for feet - birdy feet over ANY feet. Furry or human, or even furry-human. (Perish the thought!) :0

Pete is your husband? My husband's name is Pete also...and doesn't get nearly as many kisses as the birds, some of whom could sit and play kissy-face all day long :). Pete doesn't have time for that - lol.

I guess after seeing dog saliva under a microscope (and human but I can't do anything about that) I'd rather not have it anywhere in the region of my face. Still, I know there are those who do and I just turn away if I'm there and try to think about something besides those microscopic images burned into my brain .

Maybe we should start a 'Poor Pete' journal where everyone can introduce their long suffering 'other halves' - lol :)
