Between 2001 and 2003 I was being harassed by a male neighbor. He was a big guy about 5’9” and 220lbs. He would make sounds, whistles, sexually suggestive comments, watch me when I’d wash my car, etc. It got to the point that I never went out in the front yard. Its almost 6:00 am I am finishing my one hour hike Taylor will be comig home today, she always comes home with exciting news.She was thinking about getting a pet for the dorm. Seram one of the 1000's of islands of Indonesia is called the "mother island" and the only home of the "only"(nope no others!) cockatoo on this huge gorgeous mountainous island that we mistakenly call the moluccan but is really accurately called the "seram cockatoo" since the moluccan islands are a large group of islands with many many different cockatoos on them . I was awoken by my father one morning. Aged 7 or 8 I was. Came downstairs and entered the living room. An unwanted pet that we had rescued. Sitting there was a cage with a cover on it. Still and silent. Dad pulled the cover off and there sat this beautiful bird. Yellow head, red "cheeks" as I called them, and grey and white plumage. I was the happiest child alive.
