enNeed macaw owners perspective
http://www.featherforum.com/node/view/3225
Good morning. I am currently owned by a 10 year old female Umbrella cockatoo, named Ellie, and just as of 3 days ago I am now owned by an 8 year old male <a class="glossary_term" href="glossary#53"><acronym title="B&G: Blue and gold macaw">B&G</acronym></a> Macaw, named Teal. I have large bird experience especially with My Ellie (<a class="glossary_term" href="glossary#54"><acronym title="U2: Umbrella cockatoo">U2</acronym></a>), but my questions is I see such a huge difference in personality (duh I know they are all different) mannerisms and DOMINANCE between Ellie and Teal. When I got Ellie of course she was scared her whole world was turned upside down, but in the honeymoon phase she never made a sound hardly, pretty much wouldn't come out of her cage etc. Now she is roaming the house, steps up, very interactive with me. But that also took months and months. Tue, 29 Apr 2008 07:40:07 -0400My Book about a Macaw Speaking English

http://www.featherforum.com/node/view/3177
Have a 2 year old Military Macaw that I got from a previous owner a couple of months ago that is normally tame except when he is on his playstand. Sometimes he can get extremely aggressive and in a biting mood when I try to get him to "step up" on my hand or arm. I have been attacked several times when he is sitting on his playstand perch. http://www.featherforum.com/node/view/2934
I just adopted a 2 1/2 year old Severe Macaw, named Chester. Right now I am giving him time to adjust to me and the new surroundings. When I sit by his cage and talk to him, he comes over and seems very interested in me and what I'm saying. But if I move too quickly or reach to open the door of his cage, he backs away to the opposite side of the cage and acts defensive. He did take a piece of cucumber from me, even let me hold it while he nibbled it. Wed, 25 Jul 2007 08:57:12 -0400A new, older green wing suggestions
http://www.featherforum.com/node/view/2932
I just adopted a 21 year old green-winged macaw on Friday. When my wife and I met him, he would rush across the top of his cage and lunge out to bite us, and the lady told us to expect at least a month to go by before he would let us touch him, and it had taken her 3 months. http://www.featherforum.com/node/view/2908
Hello, I am new member here, so I'm hoping you all can help a girl out. <br />
<br />
My husband had two macaws, a <a class="glossary_term" href="glossary#53"><acronym title="B&G: Blue and gold macaw">B&G</acronym></a> and a Hahn's. We gave the Hahn's to his parents 1.5 years ago and still have the <a class="glossary_term" href="glossary#53"><acronym title="B&G: Blue and gold macaw">B&G</acronym></a>. We occassionally pet-sit when they go out of town (we bring the bird over to our house) and the <a class="glossary_term" href="glossary#53"><acronym title="B&G: Blue and gold macaw">B&G</acronym></a> always becomes very upset with my husband while the other bird is here. It becomes difficult for him to give the <a class="glossary_term" href="glossary#53"><acronym title="B&G: Blue and gold macaw">B&G</acronym></a> attention because she is so upset, so he just gives all his attention to the other bird. I feel like this just makes the situation worse, and that he should either try his best to give them both attention or at least not give so much attention to the Hahn's. He, however, says that why should both birds suffer just because the one is upset. Tue, 10 Jul 2007 23:22:32 -0400I need help

http://www.featherforum.com/node/view/2846
Hello, <br />
Where can I buy a mosquito-proof container to ship my macaw from California to Hawaii? The State of Hawaii requires that she be shipped in a mosquito-proof container.<br />
Does anyone have any ideas where I can buy this? Fri, 25 May 2007 14:11:35 -0400New to group

http://www.featherforum.com/node/view/2624
I have a few topics on here about my blue and gold. He is around 8 years old and he was handfed. He's as tame as tame can be. Hes a great friend. Anyway, I recently introduced a scarlet into my house. I dont know the sex of either bird but Paco (my blue and gold) has changed dramatically and attacks me. I have a Scarlet and a blue and gold. Ive read on<br />
several different occasions that there are only <br />

how true that is?<br />
