Kitty Kitty is almost 3 years old, and very friendly. You can pet and touch him just about anywhere, he talks and whistles, really a bird owners dream. Except for the fact that I have trouble in the morning when i reach into his cage to change out his food.
Can I use a green house??

Hi,
Just purchased my first pair of cockatiels from a breeder. Very pleased with the tiels. Two questions.
First, I have some former rabbit cages I built that are 2ftX3ftX2ft high. I made them from 1/2 inch wire. Can I use them for the time being for a pair of tiels?

My cockatiel lately doesn't want to be anywhere near me. I try to pet him and he runs away, I try to pick him up and he attacks me. A few days ago he was a sweet and caring bird, but now he wants nothing to do with me.

My cockatiel is a little over one year old. She is a Cinammon white-faced pearl, which means she is mostly white with brown pearling, primarily on her wings. She also has some more very light, sold brown coloring on her chest and abdomen. Her face and head, until recnely, have been completely white.

I have a 3 year old Cockatiel. She keeps laying eggs constantly, we cover her up at about 7pm and she has over 12 hours covered. When she lays her eggs I leave her to sit on them for about 2 weeks then take them off her, she seems to be ok for a week or so then starts again.

Interested in others who have elderly Cockatiels and their experiences ... our bird Captain is now 28, and so far the only signs of old age are bald spots on his wings and a propensity to sleep a lot. He still flys, though not quite as far as usual.
Sick?

I have a 3 yr. old cockatiel that had some kind of an infection under her wing. All the feathers under the wing were gone and she had raw, inflamed skin. That problem seems to be on the mend. BUT, now she has lost the orange on her cheek. She doesn't have any feathers there and her skin and ear is completely exposed. My vet doesn't know yet what the problem is.....does anyone?

My cockatiel is acting very strange! Yes, I moved her cage to a diffrent part of the room, but thats nothing new~ Sleeping all the time is not normal for "Katchi", yet in the past week she certainly isn't as spunky as usual. She's sleeping with her head in her chest most of the day & night~ If I take her out to "play" which is usually on top of her cage with toys etc, She sleeps there!

I'm not sure what my cockatiel is doing. He will be sitting on top of his cage and then will go to the bottom and just sits and sways. Then after about 10 minutes he goes back ontop on his cage or to his feeder.
