Recently I bought a bird cage for my finches that I ordered from www.hqbirdcages.com. I can say that cage is really great and my finches feel excellent inside. But that is not what I keep in mind. Before I bought the cage I have read in some forums that it is very important the paint that is used to contain either only ultra-safe levels of toxic elements or none. Regarding to that I sent an email to HQBirdCages after the purchase of the cage where I asked them if there is any guarantee which proves the cage doesn’t contain toxic elements. Hello! I have four finches and I am going to have 9 more. A friend of mine is going to give them to me because he is leaving the city and there is no one who can leave them to. The cage that I have is enough for my 4 babies but considering the coming 9 they are going to be 13 totally. So I plan to buy a new cage, bigger than what I have, to provide enough room for all birds. I am double minded between these two cages and I would like to give me an advice. I have 6 finches and I liked for them HQ cage GA13221 which I saw at www.birdscomfort.com . I just made a decision to buy it when I came across to the following website: www.hqbirdcages.com . Both websites look pretty much alike but the price of the cage on the first website is $89 and on the second one is $118 (transport is included).

how can you tell the difference between males and females?I have one zibra finch that I have had for almost 3 years I would like to get him/her a cage mate

My lovely male Zebra Finch Ed died this afternoon two days after his brood of seven eggs hatched. Suspisious that he may have eaten leaves from a willow tree in our lounge. Does anyone know if this is toxic? His mate Sydney is fine but seems to be looking for him an not paying alot of attention to her youngsters.

Does anyone here have a hand-raised finch, or know someone who hand-raises them? There was an article in Bird Talk a while back that got me really curious about them.

Do parent-reared finches bond at all with their owners? It seems a bit unlikely, but I'm curious...
