My Grey will not bath.

Posted by Rodney Semones on Wed, 01/07/2009 - 12:26 :: Greys
I have had my 7 year old grey Sparkle for 2 years now and she is terrified of bathes and spraying. I suspect spraying was used as a punishment because the previous owner has been less than helpful. I have tried allowing her to take a bath at her leasure.

Help with training my baby Lutino RIngneck

Posted by PeepsMommy1 on Sat, 01/03/2009 - 16:41 :: Reducing Problem Behaviors
I got a baby Lutino Ringneck named Peep. She likes to bite me. I know since she's still young, so its not going to be too hard, but i would like some advice about how to teach her not to bite. Right now, i'm doing something where I pinch her beak and tell her no when she bites.

New Blue Crown Conures

Posted by Kristy13 on Sat, 01/03/2009 - 16:05 :: Conures
I just recently acquired two beautiful Conures that I am so desperately trying to bond with, but they hate me! They are 5 years old and I don't think they were taken care of very well. I got them a nice big cage that they can actually move around in as opposed to the one they came in was not even big enough for one one conure let alone two.

Advise re Macaw

Posted by mwooding on Tue, 12/30/2008 - 04:10 :: Macaws
I need advise on the best thing to do. We have a darling 1 year old Blue and Gold (Dani) that we got as an 8 week old chick and hand reared. He is very spoilt in the sense that he has a lot of company, spends 80% of his time out of the cage either on a play stand or sitting on a human. He eats with us (sometimes out the same plate)and has a smaller cage that he gets put to bed in every night. The problem that I have is we (the whole family) are going away in 2 weeks time for 10 days. We cannot take Dani with as we are flying overseas. I have 2 options and cannot decide which would be best and this is where I desperately need advise.

What my sun conure is eating lately

Posted by 19FRED53 on Sat, 12/20/2008 - 16:41 :: Conures
My sun-conure, Sunny, has been eating soil from my potted plant the past few days. Is this normal? Just as a note: I have just bought a male companion for her a month ago. Could this be what a conure eats if she may be pregnant?

African Grey Advise Needed

Posted by Kangol1968 on Sat, 12/20/2008 - 03:34
I am considering getting an African Grey. I'd like a Congo, but can only afford a Timnehs right now. The guy at my local pet shop said I should wait until I could afford the Congo as Timnehs is an inferior bird. Anyone have an opinion on this one way or the other?

Old bird, high pitched chirping

Posted by kezz on Wed, 12/17/2008 - 02:32 :: Reducing Problem Behaviors
Hi, I have a 19 year old male cockatiel. He is let out in the mornings and is free to return to his cage whenever he wants. He is covered up at night.
He has started to peep, short ear piercing peeps over the last couple of months. Its got to the stage where I have to put him back in his cage and cover him up to keep him quiet. A vet saw him last year and said he was in an amazing physical condition for his age.

Fighting Budgies

I just adopted 2 budgies, a male & female that have always lived together in the same cage. I am not sure of the age of them. Today I came home and found my male bird with the top of his head, right above his beak, picked, bleeding and no feathers.

very noisy male cockatiel

Hi, I have a 5 month old male cockatiel, Bailey.

He is the most noisy thing and though i love him dearly, it is getting so ridiculous he can sometimes go for 3 hours at a time continually screaming. it sounds horrible, but he has got a beautiful big cage with a perch on the top where he sits freely, fresh water, plenty of foods and constant attention.
